I could not agree more with Bal, this episode definately does not reveal the true australia as it seems like an extended version of an australian tourism campaign. Is it that producers were so naive in thinking it was any deeper than an advertisment or that we as citizens are in such denial or oblivion to the truth that many of us probably won't be able to notice this sham of a an episode.

What I saw on the show last night was a portrayal of Australia developed by a tourism board looking to create a romantic image of Australia.
The equivalent 'Channel Atlas' program on the USA would focus on the American Indians/Native Americans as vibrant cultural icons in the USA. The truth is that the American Indians have been pushed aside much like the Aboriginal population in Australia and have little influence on modern culture. They are a fragmented population struggling to assert their identity.
The real Australia is a land of immigrants redefining the cultural make-up of a anglo power base who's majority is dwindling.
While the 'Australia Revealed' had some interesting facts, it does not accurately 'reveal' the real Australia.
