Hi Tina! Don't lose hope. I don't think they sent an email to the others either. right lena? They just sent me one coz I needed to change something so it can be posted on the web. (copyright issues) This means that more semifinalists will be announced soon. Don't lose hope if you didnt get an email. My deadline was July 31. So everyone still has a chance. keep your fingers crossed!

My thoughts on the casting so far:

I have no doubt that people like Ali (Aus) and Simone (Sing) will present 5takes well. They look good, speak well and of course are well-travelled and street smart. Still, as much as they're great as it is, there's something "real" that's missing about them for me, which was the very core of what Season 2 was about. In Season 2, you have all these honest to goodness people and there was just something very "real" and accessible about these folks. Nothing about 5Takes then really seemed commercialised. It was just 5 great young people we knew nothing about, who very quickly grew on us.

It's not fair to put all these on Ali and Simone, both already familiar faces in entertainment, but - and I speak for myself - I want something very real and raw and I see that in Taiwan's Ma Yungshin.

She won me over with her girlish charm which was nothing short of real. No acting around - just being herself. I want to see more of that girl!
