have heard you are able to release the cable on a electric winch usually on the front of a four wheel drive. put the cable over the roof and attach to the tow ball.then short circit the winch with a paper clip and stand back as the four wheel drive roof calapses and start to fold the vechicle in half.I heard this was done at a western australian out back pub after a arguement

its not a myth, it has happened many times
I'm sure it may well have happened in an outback pub over here in the west - but i aint heard of it, however it did happen a few times in South Aus whilst constructing the southern expressway. Environmentalists/protesters/nuisances were getting the (warn i beleive) winches, spooling out the cable over the roof, and then jamming a flat blade screw driver into the socket on the winch. On the model of winch they use the controller remote plugs into a socket on the winch, by jamming a screw driver in there they "shorted out" the contacts to drive the winch this was like 10 years ago but i'm sure there were photos of it lurking round at the time sean |

Once the winch is short circuited, I'd think it won't work at all. Sounds like fun to watch though, MythBusters like destroying autos. |

this might work considering a winch could hall a 3-4 tonn vehicle there is a chance it could work but not much
