Driving with the Ute Tray Back down...

Hi there, I think the guys did a great job last night (5-6-6 here in qld) with the myth about whether or not it is more fuel economical to drive with that flap down at the back or not...

What i would like to ask is does having a sports bar on the back of the ute also break that air bubble and if so does that make it more or less fuel economic??? just a quiery... let me know what you think

I think they should have tested more possibilities, like a bed cover, pulling a trailer, or hauling stuff in the back. I guess that would take too much time and money though.

well roll bars weren't manufacured to improve aerodynamics, the good ones do help in roll-overs. I'd think Roll Bars wouldn't have that much impact on fuel economy, as long as they are installed directly behind the truck cab, and only stick up slightly above the cab, like 5cm or so, as shown in this site;
