A real estate purchase in Italy is only possible by provable payments – so by the in Italy common cash cheques. Any official cash flow in reference to a real estate purchase is held by the notary and the associated cheque numbers is registered. The purchase completion is a bit more complicated because only cheques are accepted by Italian banks, but in addition, it is safer. Sellers and buyers must have beside an Italian tax number also an Italian bank account. A bank account was recommendable for the purchaser anyway, since ground- or other taxes can be paid through it. Interested buyers should take care in due of a tax number and open an account at a local bank.
