I also just watched the "Chinas Mega Dam" program and basically just walked off in disgust at the number of adds. For 6mins of doco you had a min. of 4mins of adds. What am I paying for ???

Not to mention the number of technically incorrect and misleading comments made by the producer/director of this technical wonder. I'm quite sure that the program would have had a much different outlook if the dam was being built in the good old US of A. Frowner

Shame Shame Shame. A terribly racist view of a country trying to play catch up and who are obviously a threat to the US economy. This program would have you believe that Hydro-electricity was a evil form of energy. Frowner

Well off to watch the another channel. Any other channel. Frowner

Well RAY, I can only agree wiyh your feelings on this subject. Ihave just watched the Chinas Mega Dam programme, and I thought I would record it so I can watch it again later.
TO MY HORROR I FOUND THAT THE 2HR SHOW HAS BEEN SHORTENED TO LESS THAN 1HR 24 MINS, AS I EDITED OUT ALL THE PROMO ADS WITH THE PAUSE BUTTON!!!
WHAT A WAY TO PISS YOUR SUBSCRIBERS OFF! I get a magazine every month and I CAN READ, so I dont need a reminder every 8 mins or less about next months/weeks programmes!!! What a waste of my time and money & resources. I pay for my cable TV to get rid of ads and find that there are more than ever. I might as well forget it and let some other mug tape it for me and then watch it later and FF through the ads; (isnt there some technology to zip past the ads or ignore them?).

I agree!I think there are more ads and promos on pay tv than there are on free to air.You could try emailing Discovery but don't hold your breath waiting for a reply.
