Absolutely.
Im sure there are ppl whove lost their homes who'll want help and whom you can interview.
personally (although this sounds sadistic) id love to see 5 travellers battling a cyclone.
It's too current and newsy to pass up....

We're here! looking for things to do...We arrived yesterday and are staying in an awesome hostel called "Gilligans". It's a super fun atmosphere. We'd like to research some cool activities... any ideas?

Hi TJs, This isn't a suggestion particular to Cairns (apologies) but - if you're interested in music with an Australian flavour, check out a group called Rivertribe. They use traditional Aboriginal instruments in a really innovative way that blends with more familiar instruments. I saw them perform at a Sunday market in Canberra once - they were great.

Thanks for the tip Letitia. I caught the sunrise at the promenade but I have yet to see the sunset over the water. We had intentions of bbqing but the rain turned our BBQ into a pizza party. It was fun all the same. Thanks for the post! Renee
