All the above suggestions of places to see and things to do in Perth are great. It is just a shame that your time and financial restraints prevent you seeing what this outstanding State has to offer. To the locals the distance between places is measured in the time it takes not in kilometers or miles, For example Monkey Mia is a good 9 hour drive from Perth. But Margaret River is only 3 - 4 hours depending on how you drive. My advise of place to see in Perth are Freo (the night tour of the goal is a must), the Mint and Kings Park. Enjoy your time here and remember W A stands for wait awhile. RCR

While your in Fremantle go to the Sail and Anchor on South Terrace next to the markets. There is a micro brewery there and they conduct tours.

Great suggestions all! I can't wait to devour some fish n chips! Does anyone have any great suggestions for some local music experiences in Perth? Any help is much appreciated...local bands(original music), festival this week, digeree doo playing, guitar playing on the beach etc....anything you got would be great! Thanks again! We just arrived in Perth today and are getting settled in! Gabe

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Luckily, we're heading down to Margaret River tomorrow for a 2 day camping trip. I'm exited. The two things I've heard about Margaret River is an abundance of wine and chocolate...sounds like bliss to me! I heard about Monkey Mia too, but, it is a bit on the far side. IF you guys know about the art scene here... I'm all ears. I know the Perth Cultural Center has contemporary art and some performances. I'm open to moew suggestions! Thanks so much! Renee

Don't know if this suggestion comes a bit too late. But I would suggest a visit to Broome, a small place near Adelaide. It has beatiful seasides!
