There is a market in Bedok. It is quite popular with Singaporeans and the food there is cheap n good.
Take Mrt to Bedok (East -West line). Walk to bus interchange n take bus 222 or 14. Ask the bus driver to let you alight at Bedok North Block 85 market.
This market operates afer 7pm till late midnight.
Do check it out. Its really worth it.

I bet you guys are trawling through the discussion boards right now. One place I would recommend for cheap food is Amoy Street Market and Food Centre. It's along Amoy St in Chinatown if you want a change of ethnic enclave. The food's cheap and good. Some of my recommendations are fish soup, nasi lemak (Malay rice) and the teh halia (ginger milk tea) at Rafee's Corner on the 2nd floor of the Centre.
After that, you can take a stroll down to Ann Siang Hill, Club Street where more of the up-market establishments are. There are some art galleries there too.
Josh..have u found ur kebab? There is a lot along the eateries at Arab Street. Check my post at Page 8 of the Singapore message board.
By the way Miyaka, I believe Josh surname is Gibson.
This Sat morning,I'm going dragonboating sponsored by my company as part of the learn to play sports scheme..I try and see if I can get an outsider in. After that I'm going Safra Yishun for the rockwall. Pray hard it doesn't rain and there is a slot. ur welcome to join and I can notify u if there is. Should there is no slot, u can always try the simulated parachute jump and canopy walk challenge at the same place.
Rock on Josh!..
