My top 3 places:
1) Gulia's - this great cafe just near abercrombie in cleveland, the best breakie place with the best service and atmosphere, have tried everything there and have not been disappointed

2) Don Don - a great little japanese place that serves till late on oxford, the food is great, the serving is massive and its cheap! What more can you ask for?

3) Sel E Poivre

This french bistro off darlinghurst....hmmm its just mouth watering just thinking about it. The escargots, the lamb shanks, the beef, the wine and the list goes on...

Next on the list will be places to go....stay tune!!!!

Hey HamburdSUd!
Thanks for the tip. I studied art in college and I often gravitate towards art-related activities when I travel. So, you can imagine my exitement when I read your post about Arthouse Hotel! I haven't read about that in any book and I'm about to call the number you gave and see if it is going on tonight and what time. It is Monday after all! Luckily, I have my sketch book and pencils with me so I'm good to go. It is different to think about figure drawing in a bar environment...I'm intrigued.

Thanks again for the information. Have fun in Byron Bay. We might me heading there so I'd love your feedback on the art scene.

Art is everywhere!

I travelled through Sydney only a few weeks ago on my trip around Australia (I’m now in Byron Bay) and it was amasing. On harbour was my favourite place so defenitely get on a boat and see Sydney from the water. I was supporting myself in doing portraits at Circular Quay and Martin Place. If you are artistich you can get a permit from Sydney council and paint or draw for money. One of my favourite places to go was a bar in Sydney called the Arthouse hotel on Pitt street, I used to go every Monday they have a painting group with a live model and anyone can join in. You have to bring your own stuff and you can have a beer while you draw. You need to book in advance 9284 1250 for the bar I don’t have the number for the class. Have a Thooeys New , It’s my favourite beer.

A friend has recommended the following restaurant for mouth watering seafood dishes: Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay (+61295189011) - anyone agree with this recommendation?

The Basement!!!
Don't miss the hottest jazz and plenty of blues... Acts appear every night, and it's best to book ahead.
