hows going in taiwan so far?
if u are interested in south of taiwan.
i suggest that u could go to Kaohsiung, the second biggest city of taiwan.
we have good local food and nice night view of love river, our famous city rivr.
u could come on wed.
And u could not only see the festival but also could visit kaohsiung museum of history and kaohsiung music of hall. (those are close to river)
The whole festival activities including : rock band, concert, hip hop dance, live on competition .

and at the night, around the love river, the light is very unique.

Since you focus on culture, maybe u'll have the interests to check the chinese puppet opera which is played by taiwanese n known as its spetacular and unique way of acting n dub. for more info. u can check these two website which is founded by the famous masters of chinese puppet.(you'll need a translator!)the second master also have two frence students right now who devoted into this troditional play.
