An unexpected delight in this district is the Wishing Trees outside the Tin Hau Temple in Lam Tsuen.
These two famous banyan trees are a favourite with local villagers who come to burn joss sticks and incense papers hoping their wishes will come true. During Chinese New Year, many Hong Kong people make a pilgrimage to this spot to make their Chinese New Year wishes. Participate in this tradition and your wish may come true.

The Tin Hau Temple near the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree was built around the time of Emperor Qian Long of the Qing Dynasty and is the largest temple of its kind in Tai Po. The temple's main hall is dedicated to Tin Hau, the Goddess of Heaven, while on either side of the main hall stand, respectively, a Hall dedicated to both the God of Literature and the God of War (the Man Mo Hall) and the Temple for Justice, built in honour of 12 noble-hearted men who protected the Lam Tsuen villages in the past.

Best Place to see Tsing Ma Bridge:
Ma Wan, is the best place to see the Tsin Ma Bridge, at night it is even more beautiful with the light on.

Getting there:
MTR to Central ---> IFC 2 exist ----> Discovery Bay Pier diection, next to it Park Island Pier , take the ferry to Park Island ,which is on Ma Wan . Just HK$11 one way

Trust me it is worth to go there to see the Tsing Ma Bridge.

I wanted to recommend one thing when coming to HK Smiler when exploring night life in hong kong definitly go to lan kwai fong. One bar there I always find entertaining and fun is the Russian Vodka Bar. They have this room there where the temperature gets to about -20c and you get to wear fur coats and drink vodka as you were in Russia Smiler it is an awesome experience!

the address is:
Mezz Floor, Lan Kwai Fong Tower
33 Wyndham Street
Central, Hong Kong
Tel: (852) 3579 2929

The highlight of my trip to Hong Kong was a visit to the giant buddha on Lantau Island. It is quite cheap to get there you take a ferry and then a bus plus you get incredible views of the Hong Kong skyline.
Where to stay I would recommend the YHA Mount Davis hostel
http://www.yha.org.hk/Eng-HostelMountDavis.html
As you can see a bus can take you there plus you get an incredible view of the city from the hostel.

Yes, I agree wil FuFu. DON'T GO TO DISNEYLAND. It is a huge waste of time and money and you will be VERY disappointed.

Go to Ocean Park I say. Tickets are $185HK but we were able to get group tickets for $100 each so you may want to try something there. You'll need a whole day if you want to try the rides and see the Dolphin/Seal show etc but it's worth it(make sure you pack your lunch though as the prices are outrageous). And the views from the cable car are amazing.

For Josh I would suggest the 8 kilometer Dragons Back hike which was voted as the best hike in Asia in Times magazine Asia 2004. It starts at Shek O and finishes as Big Wave Bay. Hong Kong has the best public transport system and you can check out the MTR, KMB and CITYBUS websites on the net to see how to get there. You really won't regret doing this hike. If you want a laugh, go to the East Asia Games museum-my friend and I stole a ball from there(still have it too).

For Renee, you can try the Heritage walk trail-it's free which is why I did it and you'll see the CBD and architecture of the city(but skip the botanical gardens as it is rubbish). Culture wise, there is a place called Joyce is not here cafe which is this small intimate 'bohemian' type cafe and does poetry readings on Wednesday nights. It's in Lan Kwai Fong.

For Tony
I agree with Jack Riorio. And make sure you pick up a copy of HK magazine which tells you everything that is going on in HK for that week. Hong Kong is a great place for singles. You guys could also check out one of the quiz nights in Causeway Bay on a Wednesday night at Dicken Bar. It's loads of fun and you can win free shots, beers and prizes for winning. And for the girls....Ladies night in Wan Chai and LKF on Wednesday night-unlimited vodka.

For Gabe.
Well unfortunately South of Dalian, China, the food isn't that great(to me). It isn't like the Chinese food back at home anyway. If you want a good meal, you have to pay for it..Jaspa's Jaspa's Jaspa's is all I need to say. It's Australian run and the food rocks. It's in Soho. Street food is dicy here and have had food poisening on many occasions. I hope you like Pork and seafood. If you want to get closer to the local Hong Kong people and test your taste buds, try Tao Heung Super 88 Restaurant Group, in Heng Fa Chuen (MTR Blue Line).

Tiffany
IFC for stuff you'll never be able to afford and Temple street night Market, Monkok ladies market for stuff you can. My favourite is the Stanley Street market in Stanley. Stanley is a really nice place (about 4 income brackets above my own) but a must see place.
