I finally got time to post about the event!

I was the major prize winner for the discovery channel peoples choice comp. My wife and i went to the OCC live as VIP as winners for the comp.
We had a great time{as you do when you win something} but spoke to many people before and after the Vip lunch that where not happy at all with the way the event was run.
I could see exactly why they felt they had been ripped off.

What i would like to say, before i write a letter of thanks to the people of discovery channel, is that even the heads of discovery channel and there staff{they sat through lunch with us and photo's} had the same treatment as anyone that bought a VIP ticket.

I asked the head of discovery channel why there was no advertising for discovery at the event and even said a big balloon over the event with discovery on it would look great{had a few drinks by then}.I was told at the event had nothing to do with discovery at all{ this was before any complaints etc} and i asked why!
The answer i got which explained the whole thing was" We bought Occ here to film for discovery channel and have spent the last week filming etc, this event is a separate entity from the filming we are doing around Australia with them."
To any of the Vip's that attended the lunch, i and the staff/exec's from Discovery sat outside the door's to the main room,no one at the discovery channel tables could even see the boys from OCC during the lunch. We had the same pictures taken as the rest of the Vip's{herded behind them for the picture}, except my lovely wife got to sit on SNR's lap for the picture{he could have atleast thanked me for the privledge }.

My thoughts are! Go hard on CHUGG as they did the wrong thing{i believe CHUGG is a very lucky man, after the way i heard him talk to the boys wearing there colours at the VIP lunch.}
To the blokes wearing there club colours at the VIP event, you earned major respect from every single VIP there and it did a lot for the image of you clubs{to the people that have not had much to do with you guy's}!
The blokes from the clubs and other riders not in clubs, way out shined the guys from OCC, in my opinion.They made our day and earned a huge amount of respect{besides what they already have} for being top people!

Go hard on Chugg, for ripping you!
I believe discovery had nothing to do with the event at all and got the same treatment as every other VIP etc at the event.

I had the time and thought i would write about my experience from the event.

Seems to me 4 players had a hand in this fiasco.

Your server time is out...I can't tell if it is fast by approx 3 hours or if it is slow by nine hours...I posted this on 13 March at near enough to 8:30pm AESDT...have a look at what time the sever recorded it.

Well Mick, good on ya for winning the comp. I know Discovery's position is the same as OCC's, basically that they were suckered along with all us lowly punters.

Sorry , but that doesn't wash. To joe public the names of OCC and Discovery are as intertwined as bacon and eggs. When Chugg decided to rip thier fans off he dragged both their names through the mud...and THEY should be seeking to redress that issue on behalf of the fans. To do otherwise is just plain wrong and shows a disturbing weakness from both organisations.

Normally I sign my missives of with "cheers" but I'm not going to this time. Nothing against you Mick but I'm madder than a cut snake over this and I'm not going to quit until 1. I have my money back and 2. I get an apology from OCC, Discovery and Chugg...and I don't much care how much responsibilty they all THINK they carry. They're all responsible, plain and simple.
