I emailed this with receipt read and priority to Chugg and OCC.

Chugg Entertainment, Orange County Choppers,

What a disgraceful, and waste of money this event was.

A few points to bring up:

1. Entry was dangerous. (10,000 people all trying to get into an event with 2 lines? Are you kidding?)
2. First Aid. After suffering from dehydration, where was First Aid when this was happening at 12-2pm?
3. Food/Beverages. 45 mins in a line to find out there was no food and they had run out of water.
4. Kids rides. Still in the truck?
5. Shelter. A couple of trees for 10-15,000 people. No water, no shelter. No wonder I passed out from the heat.
6. Quality of Event. Only 4 OCC bikes, packed into a sweatbox. Good job. Saw everything on offer at the event in 30 mins.

This is only touching the problems that occured. Thank god I did not attend the "VIP" event. Apparently that was just as much of a debarcle.

Myself, among MANY others, will never attend a Chugg event again, or support any OCC product, until a full refund and apology is made.

Many people who attended are in the process of taking this to the news, radio, Media publications, ACA, Today/Tonight and the Dept of Fair Trading.

Awaiting your prompt reply,

Justin

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to complain about the recent OCC event which was held on Saturday 24th of February 2007, at Sydney Olympic Park in the Overflow.

I have been a fan of Orange County Choppers since it first arrived on the Discovery Channel and made sure I purchased tickets in the presale so as not to miss out. At the time of purchase the programme was advertised as such;

The guys will be bringing some of their finest creations for display, building a bike live on stage (and giving it away to an audience member) and holding a Q&A session. As well, there will be a trade show, markets, workshop demos, signings with cast members and lots of live music. This interactive event has something to please the entire spectrum of reality TV as well bike enthusiasts!

RUNNING TIMES
12noon: Gates Open
Market & Food Stalls
Carnival Rides
Bike Displays
Trade Show

2pm-6pm: Workshop Demos
Signing With Cast Members
Australia Artist Performances
Street Performers

6pm-7pm: Very Special Musical Guest Performance
Tuetels' Q&A

8:45pm: OCC Band Performs

9:30pm: Bike Raffle & Presentation

Arriving at the event on the Saturday I found a large crowd milling around outside trying to find some shelter from what was turning out to be a rather hot day. Once the one gate to the event was opened I joined the crush to get in to the event. With just the one entry point and just a handful of staff to cater for the 10,000+ attendees this was both poorly organised and, due to the heat, potentially dangerous. As it was a few people did faint whilst waiting to get in.

The one merchandise tent that was available suffered from a similar crush of people trying to get access to buy merchandise. Unfortunately no official OCC merchandise was available. The t-shirts, while looking nice, were poorly printed and, as I found on arriving home, the print was already starting to rub off the t-shirts without even being worn.

After purchasing 5 t-shirts – two for myself, two for my kids and one for my wife at a cost of $190.00 this was another item on my list of disappointments and I had only been in the venue almost an hour.

I then proceeded to find something to drink after being lined up in two lines. However, the lines for food and drink on the only three food stalls were already up to an hour long so I decided against that and thought it might be a good time to check out the OCC choppers on display. While it was nice to see them you couldn’t admire them for too long in a tent pitched in the very middle of the park with temperatures inside far exceeding that outside. As it was the four bikes on display were dirty and one even still had the customs tag still attached to the handlebars of the bike.

On leaving there I checked the new schedule on the big screen to find that the originally scheduled workshop demos and cast signings were no longer part of the programme and what was left of it had been bastardised to a point where there was no real point in staying at the venue anyway. I can understand a programme being changed but to have been changed in a way that barely even resembled the original was very disappointing to say the least.

Given that nothing was going to happen in regards to entertainment for another four hours and there was very little covered area or shade it was pretty much pointless. The drink lines made it near on impossible to get a drink – many people had to leave the venue and find drinks at the parking station away from the venue.

For such a large event, very little care in regards of managing it was taken. There was no first aid available – this allegedly did not arrive until 4.30pm. Given the temperatures during the day there was not enough catering for the amount of people who arrived. As an all weather event places to shelter from the sun and the rain that eventuated would have been helpful also.

In light of the problems that occurred I would like to request a full refund on my ticket of $59.40 which is attached. As a receipt for the merchandise was not given at the venue I am more than happy to return the shirts to you for a full refund if that is what you request. Otherwise a partial refund using the attached picture verification would also be sufficient.
