Hi Canberran.....good on you I saved mine as well so here it is:
My whole family was so excited to see that OCC were coming to Australia. We had been fans of the show for so long and now we were going to have the opportunity to see them live. I bought a family ticket for me, and my 3 children ages 19 months, 6 years and 12 years and because my husband is turning 40 in a few weeks and has been a bike enthusiast and bike rider since he was 8 I scrapped the $444.40 together to get him a VIP ticket. Now at the through of the waste of money this was I just want to cry. There is so much more we could have done with this type of money but it was so important to me to do something I thought was going to be so special for the man I love. Well it was advertised that there would be carnival rides and street performers and OCC cast signings but none of this happened or was there. I had to line up for 1 1/2 hours for t-shirts for my 6 and 12 year old so they at least had something to show for the day. Then I had to line up for over an hour for hot dogs for my family only to be told when we got to the head of the line that they had run out of drinks so then I had to take the kids and line up for another hour to get drinks. My children were so hot, tired and bored. I had taken some cold drinks but due to the heat and it taking an hour to get into the event they were gone by the time we entered the Overflow. It was announced that the VIP ticketholders were to go to the Novotel for lunch (this was the time advertised) but then when a lot of the riders were on their way to the Novotel another announcement was made to go to their bikes to get ready for the ride instead so off they went included my very excited husband. The ride was supposed to be for 50 minutes but only went for 20 minutes and it was not organised well at all and could even be called dangerous. On completion of the ride the VIP riders were instructed to go to the Novotel for their Teutul hosted lunch. Well the riders turned up for lunch but the Teutuls did not. When the lunch was over the Chugg Entertainment rep came in and told everyone to shut the F*** up and listen and told them that the Teutuls were coming in for the photos and no-one was allowed to talk to them or touch them. Each table would be directed behind the 3 stools the Teutuls were sitting on have their photo taken and then move back to their table. Once the photos were taken (my husband's head is distorted in the photo with him in it) everybody was expecting the advertised VIP book signing, as was advertised for VIP's, to start but the Teutuls just took off back up to their room. After the Teutuls left the VIP's were told they could go and to come back at 8pm to pick up their autographed book and their photo. When he went back for his book it was "American Chopper Radical Rides" and not "The Tale of the Teutuls" as was advertised. So that was the extent of the VIP experience. So with 420 VIP's that is a gross income of $186648 and then with an average amount of 13000 general admission tickets sold at $60 each their gross income from general admission tickets would have been about $780000 so gross income on ticket sales alone was nearly $1million. The bike VIP secured parking was a joke also. While all riders appreciate people looking at and admiring their bikes they don't appreciate when the few don't respect the rides and cause damage. People were allowed to walk through the so called secure parking area and 99% were great and respected the bikes which is great but there were those 1% who were getting on and off the bikes to have photos taken without the owners permission and putting their kids on and off the bikes without the owners permission and some of the bikes have sustained damage to their tank paintwork and designs due to this. Also if just one of the bikes had have been accidently knocked over then the bikes would have fallen like dominoes and god help us if one of the bikes had landed on somebody or god forbid a child. It could kill them. Viewing of the riders bikes should have been restricted to behind the barriers of the secure parking area for everyone's safety alone. Also my husband was told by one of the security guards on the way out that 2 bikes had been stolen out of the VIP secure bike parking area. So when my husband came back to The Overflow the kids were fed up and bored and I was fed up and bored after having to disappoint my kids when there were no rides and having to tell them they weren't going to get to meet the OCC cast or get autographs which made my 6 year old cry and my 12 year old sulk, I told Mike we were going home but then he said he couldn't go because he had to wait until 8pm to be able to get his book and photo. This meant that my husband had to stand around in the pouring rain for 3 hours just so he could get the book and photo, otherwise he wouldn't get it, and then line up for 3/4 hour to get them and then ride home in the pouring rain for what turned into a 3 hour trip due to the rain. He has now lost time at work because he has gotten sick from all this and my kids and I have been lethargic (even though I continually applied sunblock to them, they had hats on, I drenched their heads in water as much as I could and tried to keep the fluids up to them) from the unrelenting heat and lack of cover to protect people. So our family forked out over $600 for tickets, $160 for shirts, $60 in food and drinks and $100 in petrol to go and have a picnic. On Sunday morning I sent off a complaint email to Stephen at Chugg Entertainment as I still had his email address from him wanting confirmation of Mike taking part in the bike ride, as yet I have not received a reply nor have I received a response from my complaint email to OCC. The email address for Stephen de Wilde at Chugg is stephen@chuggentertainment.com and the email address for OCC is generalinfo@orangecountychoppers.com Shame on you OCC, Chugg and KNW productions!!!!! |
