Well, I saved my missive. If anyone else saved their's paste it in.

I agree with all the points that The Colonel and Shoalin 360 bring up but would like to add the following:

I don't know how many people were there but I'm guessing there was over 10,000. There was no first aid help...no St Johns or ambulance presence. It was a VERY hot and humid day. The organisers were lucky there were no incidents (that I saw) but playing roulette with people's health and well being isn't something they should have engaged in...isn't it illegal to run an event without that kind of support?

The "raffle" for the bike doesn't appear to have had a permit. I'm pretty sure the permit number should be displayed on the ticket.

The bike give away was a stuff up from the start. The organisers made rules (and variations on those rules) on the run. They first said that five tickets would be drawn, starting at 5 through to 2 (who were to get minor prizes) and the last ticket drawn would win the bike. Tickets holders were to be given 3 minutes to present themselves to collect their prize. Sounds simple enough but they seemed incapable of dealing with the fact that many ticket holders had left (well, it was bucketing down rain by that stage!). All of a sudden they kept drawing tickets until they had five holders present then drew from those from a hat. The person who had been drawn out fifth has every right to feel cheated. He/she was suddenly put into a "final" rather than winning the bike outright. To the crowd this drawing from a hat smacked of cheating...because all our tickets were still in the barrel and we were not told that this “final” arrangement had been put in place.

The last thing I’d like to say is that it is very unprofessional to allow someone who is clearly affected by alcohol and/or drugs to MC an event like that. At one time he told the crowd to f*&^ -off because he was p#$$@ed off with them. That didn’t go down well at all, particularly by people who had small children there. Calling the video operator a “****er” was another of the many gaffs this idiot made throughout the event.

I want to state that the Teutuls were fantastic, even graceful in the face of their event being ruined by idiots running (term used loosely) it. By the same token I’ll never go to another event that involves them. I can’t afford to spend the kind of money I spent and have the event run by fools. Who do I see about a refund??

I am also angry and pissed that Chugg has yet to apologise or even comment on the mismanagement of the event. Does he think this will just go away or be forgotten? I invite everyone who feels robbed of their hard earned money to join me in a crusade against such filth! Why don’t we all donate into a trust account to help lodge a class action claim against chugg?? I for one would find more satisfaction contributing $20 towards the legal cost fighting for a refund than the $444+ spent on VIP tickets.

Here is my letter of complaint and the list of people I have been in contact with,To date I havent heard back from anyone.I called Chugg Entartainment and asked for the complaints department(after no reply to my email which was forarded to them from Discovery, the first email I sent to do with this farce)I was asked to resend my email with all my contact details on it.Still waiting for a reply.

Yes another two (two of many ) very disgruntled, unhappy, angry and skint fans who attended the OCC farce!!
Myself and my partner flew up from Melbourne at 8am on the 24th,looking forward to what should have been an extremely fun weekend.Boy were we in for a shock!
We arrived by taxi from our motel in Homebush ($50 later at 1pm) just in time to see the Teutals leaving the hotel on their bikes. Two minutes of excitement. Then we joined the entrance queue and noticed lots of miserable people actually leaving. One unhappy looking man said to us "I wouldnt bother, its very dissappointing!"
We thought it couldnt be that bad.We wandered round and had a look at the stalls(the ones we could get near, that is) and 20 minutes later wondered what to do next.
We waited 30 minutes at the grog tent and couldnt believe it when thay charged us $7.00 for a 375 ml tin of bourbon which was then poured into a 300ml cup!
Anyway.,that drunk,it was what to do next?Well, to cut a long story short,we hung around for 7 hours completely bored out of our minds and sweltering(nowhere to cool off from the 35 degree heat),nowhere to get a proper meal, the queue to the pub and McDonalds were horrendous.(Luckily we found a Muffin Break round the back of McDonalds that wasnt busy,I dont think too many people realised it was there. So we managed to grab a sandwich)
Back to the field for more sitting around doing nothing, while noticing that there was somebody up on the second from top floor of the Novotel watching what wasnt going on!!People worked out it was the folks from the OCC and started to call out to then to come down and say hello. No response!
We spoke to a bloke who had just come out of the lunch with the Teutals and BOY was he angry,he had to have a photo with the Teutals with about 9 strangers and he had to wait till 8pm to pick his photo up.He said any questions to the Teautals had to be written on paper as you were not allowed to speak to them, the bag of freebies they were given was only half full and most of that was crap, the 50 minute ride with the Teutals lasted 20 minutes and various other complaints. He was so hacked off that he was going home there and then and even gave us his raffle tickets.
Anyway, eventually we were informed that the Teutals were coming on stage earlier than advertised(thank God as by this time I wanted to go back to our Motel,I was so bored and hot)
People were leaving by the hordes and many people we spoke to were feeling the same way, mainly RIPPED OFF!
The stage show when the Teutals did eventually come on wasnt even worth waiting for.Mikey who is usually the funny ,most entertaining one seemed to have stage fright and could only come out with "ozzie, ozzie, ozzie"every couple of minutes.By this time we were in the middle of a thunder storm which dampened our already dampened spirits even further. The show was not worth hanging around for 7 hours for and as soon as they picked the raffle winners(?) we left as did hundreds of others. We were even given stacks of free pies from one of the vendors who had obviously intended to be open for a few hours more.Obviously they had had enough too!
Im so glad we didnt take our kids with us as they would have been inconsolable at the lack of carnival rides(which had been advertised)and other things to do.An "all weather event",I dont think so!
We caught a taxi back to our motel(another $50) and the taxi driver had already spoken to punters who had been at the event and had said how crap it was.We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the manager who asked if we'd had fun. My,how we laughed. She too had also already heard what a shocking "Do" it had been .Bad news travels fast!
Anway,we flew back to Melbourne the following morning and had to recount our story to everyone who asked and they were all gobsmacked and urged us to cantact everyone who was involved in organising this weekend.
First off we emailed Discovery on Mon 26th feb.We eventually got a reply exactly a week later saying how sorry they were to hear of our dissappointing weekend but it wasnt any of their business basically. They did however say they had forwaded our email onto Chugg Promotions and highlighted our complaints and gave us the contact address of Chugg and hoped that we would hear from them soon.Well, two weeks to the day of receiving that email we are still waiting to hear from CP.We discovered all the other folks complaints over the weekend while surfing the web and were not surprised to find so many complaints on the subject.
So here we are $900 down and very angry still, and all fired up to take this as far as it needs to be taken to get some kind of apology or acknowledgement or SOMETHING from SOMEONE!!!
Theres heaps more I could write about but at this moment im so over it all .
Its the worst weekend we have ever had the misfortune of spending $900 on and we want action!!

Hi all

I've just spent hours reading all the complaints about OCC show in Homebush. I was there and agree that it was an absolute shambles. I've seen the show a few times and really liked it, but it's my boyfriend who is the big fan. He bought me my ticket and i was pretty excited about going.

What was really sad on the day was all the really disappointed looking people, especially the kids. Everyone was just looking at eachother in silent understanding that the day was a massive disappointment. I really urge anyone who attended and is upset over th whole thing to do something about it. I have posted this on the 'A Current Affair' website and the 'Today Tonight' website and will be sending something in writing to Chugg Entertainment also. It's time to stop the big people with lots of money treating us like unimportant, worthless idiots that they can rip off. They need to be held accountable.

ACA/TT post:

Michael Chugg Entertainment organised the most poorly run event Sydney has seen! Thousands of fans went to the Orange County Choppers (OCC) show in Homebush on 24/2/07 and were disappointed and angered by the complete change in the show's schedule. And these weren’t minor changes-it turned from what was advertised as an exciting family day, filled with bike building demonstrations, workshops and a Q & A session with the Orange County Chopper team to a small 4 bike display in a crowded, extremely hot tent and a few show stalls. This is an extreme case of false advertising.

This was not the only problem on the day. Other signs that the show was poorly organised included grossly inadequate shelter and seating, absence of First Aid facilities (there were hundreds of young children at this event!) and limited food and drink stalls. Two food stalls for 10,000 people is ridiculous. People were fainting from the heat and lack of fluids (the line up for a drink was at least 1 hour, all in unsheltered areas). Show merchandise was of extremely poor quality-people on the chat forums are saying the ink from the print on the T shirt they had bought was rubbing off before the day had ended.

Thousands of families, including people who had traveled from Queensland and Melbourne, felt disappointed and disillusioned, not to mention ripped off. The feeling of extreme frustration was palpable on the day. Many left early, feeling upset that they had been robbed of $60.00, the cost of the ticket. Internet chat forums are packed with angry people who feel very let down, and Chugg Entertainment has not yet replied to the deluge of complaints received. The Department of Fair Trading are investigating the matter after a number of people turned to them for answers and demands for their money back. Ray Hadley (2GB) and 'Jonesy' from WS FM also mentioned the poorly run, extremely disappointing event on their radio shows. It seems Mr Chugg is hoping this will all go away and is refusing to accept responsibility for this shambolic state of affairs. People are very angry and refuse to let Mr Chugg hide behind his millions in the hope the the people in the 'burbs keep quiet. Well we won't!! Please help us!
